Keri has a long track record in media management.

He set up Britain’s most successful local radio station – Radio Pembrokeshire. In June 2004, RAJAR radio ratings revealed that 66% of local residents listened to Radio Pembrokeshire each week. The radio industry named Radio Pembrokeshire‘Station of the Year’ in two consecutive years – 2005 and 2006.

Keri moved to the Isles of Scilly in 2007 to launch another award winning and successful radio station, this time a not-for-profit venture. A panel of radio industry judges awarded Radio Scilly the South West Station of the Year title in 2010.

In 2016 Keri left Radio Scilly and moved to North Dorset. For two years he produced and presented a weekly, hour-long syndicated radio travel and holiday programme – The Great Destinations Radio Show – which aired on 70 UK radio stations. The programme required overseas travel for at least twenty weeks of the year.

After two years, Keri decided to concentrate on providing a daily local news service for his town, and the podcast was born.

In December 2019, Ofcom, the UK broadcast regulator, awarded Alfred the community radio licence for the Shaftesbury area. The station will be groundbreaking, staffed by volunteers and offering a mix of local speech features and information sourced from contributors within the community. There will be no fixed studio.

The Ofcom application is here.

Keri mentors and consults for community radio stations in Somerset and Cornwall on a voluntary basis and was approached to judge the UK radio industry ARIAS Awards in 2018.
